Family Reserve, a blended red wine of Cabernet, Syrah and Barbera, was recently awarded the titles of Concordance Gold (a unanimous decision from the panel of 10 judges) and Best Red Wine of 2009 at the Ohio Wine Competition. The medals continued to pour in as their Cherry Wine and newest wine release Traminette also claimed the honored Gold titles.Seven medals in all were claimed by Maize Valley Winery at the competition. With 5 additional wines scheduled to be released in celebration of Ohio Wine Month in June including: Vidal, Vignole, La Crescent, Chardonelle and a fortified Chambourcin, there is no better time than right now to stop out and sample all of the award winning wines they have to offer.Maize Valley also offers a gourmet market and deli with excellent lunch and dinner menus.
